The first Era, Pre-Civilization
From this time frame, from before great cities on the first starts of fundamental civilization, the human race survived on their skills of scavenging and hunting. In cultures much like those of the first era and pre-civilization, women had the roll of taking care of the home and preparing the food brought in by that men. Some portions of current Africa have conditions such as this, where they do not have a great deal of money, and a similar style of hierarchy. The men all learned how to hunt, and they held these hunts daily to help feed themselves. Unlike today, all hunting was with regard to survival, and none from it for sport. All of the materials from the killed animals was used, in the bones to the pelt. Hunting was also a way of determining who had been the bravest warrior. This bravest would hunt this ferocious creatures that resided nearby their homes. These kills were a vital the main early hierarchies.
Several different weapons were used while doing this era, from slings to spears crafted of lumber and stone. For good sized prey, the hunters works together in packs, much like how a wolf hunts to create down their quarry. The only real trophies kept were antlers and teeth. Occasionally the skulls may be kept as decoration or as symbols of the clan or family party. This oldest form involving hunting was the basis that the present was formed.
The second Era, Growth of World
As most people gathered together and world really began, the role of men as hunters changed to boot. Cities, by their really nature, require a variety of people with a great deal of skills. There needed to remain craftsmen and weavers, animal handlers and other trades to make sure that everyone could have access to everything they needed. Rather than the split between men and women, hunting became the work of those most suited for hunting. These were typically always men, as it’s looked down upon for women to participate in this type of work.
This was also the turning point where hunting becoming a sport. Civilizations, such as being the Babylonians, the Egyptians, and the Romans all had their own hunters and craftsmen. The Romans, took hunting for a sport to a whole new level, capturing prey alive for sale or gladiatorial competitions. Just certain individuals were searchers, allowing the select men to feed those within their community.
The final Era, The Middle Ages
Colonists to the New World required as much hunting skills as possible, during this period of time, although they progressed quickly from relying on scavenging and hunting to creating farms and plantations.
